What is Nadi Pariksha?
Nadi Pariksha (Pulse Diagnosis) is an ancient Ayurvedic diagnostic technique used by traditional Ayurvedic practitioners to assess a person’s physical, mental, and emotional health by examining the pulse at the wrist.
How it works?
-
The practitioner places three fingers (index, middle, and ring) on the radial artery at the wrist.
-
Each finger corresponds to one of the three doshas (fundamental energies in Ayurveda):
-
Vāta – Index finger
-
Pitta – Middle finger
-
Kapha – Ring finger
-
-
By feeling the rate, rhythm, depth, and movement of the pulse, the practitioner interprets imbalances in the doshas.
Nadi Pariksha is considered a non-invasive, holistic diagnostic tool in Ayurveda. It helps in determining the root cause of health issues rather than just the symptoms.
